Last January, we spread the word about Chapel Hill’s splash pad and inclusive playground survey. Hundreds of you filled out the survey (thank you)!

Since then, the town has taken several steps forward: they put $785,000 in ARPA funds towards the inclusive playground at the Chapel Hill Community Center and $285,000 to upgrade other playgrounds with accessible equipment – and conducted a (necessary) feasibility study on the location of a future splash pad.

Now it’s time to give feedback on possible inclusive playground designs. You can do that in one of two ways:

Take the online survey

You can take an online survey about inclusive playgrounds. It’s 10 questions long.

Give feedback in person

There are two upcoming listening sessions planned with Barrs Recreation Playground Equipment, a leading provider of accessible playground equipment.

The listening sessions are planned for the following dates.

  • Sunday, February 11, 2024, 12 – 2 pm
Chapel Hill Public Library, Room B, 100 Library Drive, Chapel Hill, NC
  • Thursday, February 15, 2024, 6 – 8 pm
Chapel Hill Community Center Meeting Room, 120 S Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, NC

This is a chance to weigh in on something that will be really great for all of our kiddos!

In the last municipal election cycle, we helped increase turnout by over 20 percent. We're all volunteers who care deeply about Chapel Hill and Carrboro, and we're working to make Chapel Hill and Carrboro more vibrant, accessible, fun, and sustainable.  Please consider a small donation to help us keep our digital lights on, host events, and hire students to do data deep-dives.
