Maurice Jones, Chapel Hill Town Manager, has announced his resignation from the Town. He will be leaving his post effective December 31, 2022. The full press release is here.

He was appointed by the Chapel Hill Town Council on July 10, 2018. His first official day as town manager was Sept. 2, 2018.

Prior to joining the town, he served as city manager of Charlottesville, Va.

Chapel Hill has a council-manager form of government. The nine council members, including the mayor, are elected. The council appoints the town manager.
