We have learned two candidates have withdrawn their candidacy status with the Board of Elections. This makes the school board race pretty straightforward as there are now three candidates for the three available seats. For Chapel Hill Town Council, we had two incumbents and 3 challengers vying for 4 seats.

Running for public office is hard. It takes a lot of time and commitment, and also money. We respect their decisions and thank these two candidates for taking the initiative to run. We also appreciate the timing so their names will not appear on the final ballot.
