Back in June, we made a request to our readers to help PORCH raise $10,000 to bridge the gap they often have in summer donations of both food and money. It’s a time of year where families travel and aren’t home some weekends to place food on their front porches.
Thanks to you, we helped PORCH raise $9,754.58! We recently heard from Sofia Edelman, Volunteer and Communications Manager at PORCH Chapel Hill-Carrboro, who had this to say:
“We are so incredibly thankful for the support of the Triangle Blog Blog community. Summer is always a hard time since kids are out of school, and this summer was made even more challenging because of Tropical Storm Chantal. The generosity of Triangle Blog Blog readers not only helped us meet our goal of adding extra food to our summer distributions, it also allowed us to quickly respond to the emergent needs of those affected by the storm. Your support has made it possible for us to be there for our community in both everyday challenges and unexpected crises.”
Of course, you can always give to PORCH and you can also consider becoming a PORCH family and get in the monthly donation cycle. This donation button goes directly to PORCH:
