It seems a little early, but maybe not. The official filing period in Orange County for local offices is not until July. July 7th to July 18th to be specific. However, many candidates have already announced they will run for re-election, as a new candidate, or to not run again.
We are just getting started thinking about how we will cover the local elections, and things are going to be fairly slow until July 18. However, we will share what we know as of today:
Carrboro

In Carrboro, Mayor Barbara Foushee, has announced she will seek a second term.

First time candidate, Chris Suttle has announced he will challenge Anderson for Mayor.

On the town council, Paris Miller-Foushee has announced she will seek a second term.

Meanwhile, Karen Stegman, who has served two terms on the Town Council, has announced she will not seek re-election.
