There is no Dana Only Zuul Vote Zulu for Gatekeeper

It seems a little early, but maybe not. The official filing period in Orange County for local offices is not until July. July 7th to July 18th to be specific. However, many candidates have already announced they will run for re-election, as a new candidate, or to not run again.

We are just getting started thinking about how we will cover the local elections, and things are going to be fairly slow until July 18. However, we will share what we know as of today:

Carrboro

Barbara Foushee Carrboro Mayor

In Carrboro, Mayor Barbara Foushee, has announced she will seek a second term.

Chapel Hill

Jess Anderson Chapel Hill Mayor

In Chapel Hill, Mayor Jess Anderson has announced she will seek a second term.

Chris Suttle Chapel Hill Mayor Candidate

First time candidate, Chris Suttle has announced he will challenge Anderson for Mayor.

Paris Miller-Foushee Chapel Hill Town Council

On the town council, Paris Miller-Foushee has announced she will seek a second term.

Wes McMahon Chapel Hill Town Council Candidate

First time Candidate Wes McMahon has announced he will run for one of 4 seats on the council

Karen Stegman Chapel Hill Town Council

Meanwhile, Karen Stegman, who has served two terms on the Town Council, has announced she will not seek re-election.

Hillsborough

Kathleen Ferguson Hillsborough Town Board

Kathleen Ferguson, has announced she will run for a 4th term on the Hillsborough Town Board.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education

George Griffin Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education

George Griffin has just announced he will seek re-election to the school board.
