Railcare Health is having a big fund raising gala on June 14. I wrote about Railcare back in November and was really impressed with the organization and what they do. A quick reminder of who they are and what they do:
Railcare Health is a student-founded mobile healthcare clinic servicing North Carolinians in rural portions of the state who have difficulty accessing these resources daily. Our founder, Kevin Travia (UNC ’19), was motivated by the simple belief that wellbeing should not be limited by location.
Railcare is hosting their fundraiser dinner and auction, A Midsummer Night’s Gala, on June 14th to raise money for a new mobile clinic unit so that they can regain their statewide reach. I first became aware of them back when they had their vehicle, and was saddened when they could not longer operate it due to a mechanical issue. You may have seen them around town as they have often had free screening at Lanza’s and also at the Community Home Trust block party.

They promise an evening full of entertainment planned at a beautiful local venue, and they cannot wait to share the history of Railcare with their supporters.
During reception, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in wine and hors d’oeuvres accompanied with live music. This will be followed by a delicious buffet dinner, courtesy of Beau catering. The night will conclude with a live auction.
If anyone is unable to attend and would still like to help out, they are always collecting donations.
You can register here or simply donate money. You can look here for some of the silent auction items. We live in a time where, increasingly, even the most basic health care and screening is difficult for people living in underserved areas. Railcare continues their mission of providing some of this, they are a great organization and we should do all we can to help them thrive and serve the state.
