May is National Bike Month. All across the country, communities celebrate National Bike Month by hosting events and workshops.

There are a ton of events that are taking place across Carrboro and Chapel Hill for Bike Month. We’ve rounded them all up here.  Some highlights:

May The Wheels Be With You
Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Polk Place

The University’s Commuter Alternative Program is celebrating National Bike Month with free bike checks from River Mill Cycles and the ReCYCLEry, free swag and more!

Sunday, May 7

Playground to playground ride
Time:
10am – 12pm
Location: Start at Umstead Park

A ride for all ages starting at Umstead Park, riding along the Bolin Creek Greenway to Community Park. Time to play on the playgrounds at both ends!

Tuesday, May 9

Carrboro Bike Breakfast
Time: 7-10 a.m.
Location: Libba Cotten Bikeway

An annual Carrboro tradition! Join other cyclists for breakfast treats and cycling information and resources.
