The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UNC Health are jointly sponsoring a project to study housing affordability in and around the Town of Chapel Hill. Please send this post to any current graduate students and staffers at UNC and UNC Health that you know.

From UNC and UNC Health: “We have partnered with U3 Advisors, a consultancy that specializes in real estate, economic and housing strategies for universities, hospitals and other anchor institutions.

Over the next few months, U3 Advisors will engage in a broad analysis that includes assessing market trends in affordability and mapping and analyzing current housing patterns for University and UNC Health employees.

Additionally, we are surveying all employees, including faculty and graduate students, about your perspectives regarding housing. Please respond to the online survey at airtable.com/shrv0JQNeGT0cectu.

This survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete and the deadline to complete the survey is January 31, 2023. The results of the survey are anonymous and U3 will use the results to inform their analysis of where employees and graduate students currently live, where they would desire to live, and the affordability and accessibility constraints that may drive these housing decisions.

If you are in need of any accommodations to participate in the survey, contact the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office at [email protected]. For technical issues, contact Shea O’Neill from U3 Advisors at [email protected].”

In the last municipal election cycle, we helped increase turnout by over 20 percent. We're all volunteers who care deeply about Chapel Hill and Carrboro, and we're working to make Chapel Hill and Carrboro more vibrant, accessible, fun, and sustainable.  Please consider a small donation to help us keep our digital lights on, host events, and hire students to do data deep-dives.
