A breakdown truck with artists cars on the back

And a bunch of money for the Orange County Arts Commission!

Yesterday we told you about the unfortunate incident where artists installing artwork for the Uproar Arts Festival were towed from Carr Mill Mall parking lot. (As you might know, Carr Mill Mall has a predatory towing issue.)

$1,562 raised from 93 individual donors

We at the blog blog asked you to help us cover the cost of the tow – a whopping $500 dollars – for the visiting artists. To keep track of our progress, we decided to put five famous artists on a tow truck and throughout the day, removed them one by one as we reached incremental goals.

These artists have all been towed. Help us get them off the truck.

By the afternoon, Vincent Van Gogh was off the truck and all of the money for the visiting artists was raised! We also exceeded the goal by $1062, and will be donating all of the extra dough to the Orange County Arts Commission, which puts on the Uproar Arts Festival and does many other excellent things for artists in our community.

Thank you to all 93 of you who donated. We hope you continue to enjoy the Uproar Arts Festival. (And remember, never ever leave the parking lot if you park at Carr Mill Mall.)
