Flyer for the Le Tour de Carrboro , a three races series that has been operating for over 20 years

Coming up on the Fourth of July is the Four on the Fourth. A Four mile road race through the streets of Carrboro. This year will be the 21st edition of the race. It’s hard to believe they have been doing it so long. I did not run the first race, but I am pretty close. This race is part of the “Le Tour de Carrboro” a series of races that also includes the “Gallop and Gorge” that I wrote about previously.

Why participate? It’s fun (it will likely be hot) and it benefits charities, this year, the list of beneficiaries are:

Last year, the Cardinal Track Club, which organizes the event gave $50,000 to these organizations because of your support of these races. Let’s keep that going!

What I like to do is participate in the race, then head over to Weaver St Market for a much deserved breakfast on the green, and then I stay for the Carrboro Community Fourth of July Celebration. A very Carrboro way to spend your day. So check it out. Registration is here
