Carrboro town sign

There’s a two-hour delay for the CHCCS schools today due to “potential for ice and slick spots” so I am writing this update while overseeing piano practice simultaneously. Huzzah for multi-tasking.

Carrboro Town Council kicks back off tonight for their 2025 season: The CTC meets for the first time in 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers (Room 110) at 301 W. Main St., Carrboro, NC. The agenda is pretty short: they’ll continue discussing the 904 Homestead Road project. Also: council will receive an update on the town’s race and equity initiatives throughout 2024.

An update from Carolina Mercury: Kirk Ross covered the NC state legislative body for many years and continues to stay on top of it. His latest column – the road ahead – covers both updates in the Riggs/Griffiths race and what’s happening on Jones Street.

Bike coalitions meet: The newly combined Carrboro Bike Coalition and the Chapel Hill Bicycle Alliance met last night at IFC for their first monthly meeting post-merger.

Transit art: The Chapel Hill Community Arts and Culture has a call out for artists for transit art. Applications are due January 13th.
