Transportation nerds and active transportation users, have we got an event for you: the statewide NC BikeWalk Transportation Summit.
If you bike, use an assistive or micro-mobility device, take transit, or walk to get where you are going (and that includes walking from where you park your car to your destination), you are an active transportation user, and you know that changes are needed to make your streets safer or more pleasant for people traveling outside the automobile.
This will showcase some national speakers with not only big ideas, but big actions improving safety and mobility.
What sets this event apart from other Transportation conventions is that it is the only Transportation Summit in the state that focuses on people who travel outside of the car. The location for the Summit changes each year, and this year’s Summit will be held in Chapel Hill, Sept. 22–24. Another thing that sets it apart is that it has a choose-your-own-price registration fee, making it accessible to all.
There is an all-star list of featured speakers, plus sessions covering Transportation Challenges in Rural Communities, Impacts of Micromobility Vehicles, and Active Transportation success stories from around the state.
There will be a bike ride, e-bike demos, a social event following the Summit on Monday, and walking and biking workshops on Tuesday.
