An astute reader reminded me that the Skills Development Center (NC Works) will be co-located with the new library project.

The Skills Development Center has needed to be relocated since Orange County sold the property it sat in on Franklin Street to WELL Dot to bring in tax revenue and 400 jobs.

It is important for the Skills Development Center to remain on a bus line, and in the southern part of the county because most of the people utilizing its services don’t have cars and live in the Southern part of the county.

In the last municipal election cycle, we helped increase turnout by over 20 percent. We're all volunteers who care deeply about Chapel Hill and Carrboro, and we're working to make Chapel Hill and Carrboro more vibrant, accessible, fun, and sustainable.  Please consider a small donation to help us keep our digital lights on, host events, and hire students to do data deep-dives.
